MONTRÉAL

Discover Montréal’s history from a whole new perspective! MEM’s permanent exhibition invites you to explore the city from the inside, through the eyes of those who call it home. Building on some one hundred first-hand accounts, it showcases the unique life stories that have shaped the community that is Montréal.

What is, who is Montréal? This exhibition highlights the diverse experiences that have contributed to the city’s urban fabric over time. There are as many Montréals as there are Montrealers. Through an audacious mix of viewpoints, the exhibition highlights the city’s distinctive characteristics while bringing its story to life on a human scale.

The MEM – Montrealer’s Memory Centre is a museum created by and for Montrealers. It tells the history of the city by highlighting the voices of citizens of yesterday and today. The MEM fosters proximity with the population to celebrate “Montreality”.
